Uncommon nudibranch, possibly seasonal and diurnal. Encountered mostly in daytime and only in winter and spring, at various sites, at depths ranging from 8 to 40m. Maximum length observed about 9 cm, minimum 3 cm. Identified by broad black stripes and lack of white margin at edge of mantle. Easily confused with Chromodoris quadricolor. ID of this species is always questionable.
